Case Closed

 Today Mrs Taaffe came into Whetu and confessed that she had committed the crime of the stolen chocolates and missing dongle. She stole the chocolates and the dongle because she needed to borrow it, then she saw some Milky way bar chocolates and then she thought she had heard someone so ran and had panicked so she rushed to the door  as she was opening the door she found that is was stuck. As she was opening it she  cut her self on the door and that is how some of it had happened. When we called her in we told her what we had found and the footage of her running out she had confessed.     

Athletics day

 On, Tuesday we had Athletics the advents I did were High jump,long jump,shut put,100 m , 200m  , 800,and the relay. Athletics was so fun having a day out of school in the sun. The hardest thing i did was my high jump and we did not have time for me to go higher but it is ok because the day was amazing. The advent I did the best was my 100 meters. In the relays Weka won three for the first time and Orewa won two then Patiki won one and Kapui won none. The day was so fun and I am so excited for Hauraki planes.

Lifting Fingerprints

 Today we learnt how to lift finger prints. First we had to put our fingerprints on the window and then dust  after that we got tape and then stuck it on and push the fingerprint to stick and then transferred

it on to the black paper and that is how we lifted our fingerprints.

Fantastic Fingerprints

 We have been trying too solve a crime in our class room. My homeroom teacher Mrs Kennedy took a fingerprint class so we could learn more about fingerprints and more about lifting them. We had a go at this we were lucky enough to get given ink pads so we could transfer our prints onto paper. We had to get the ink pad the roll our thumb then dab and then transfer we had to repeat the prises on each and every finger witch was so fun because we learnt so much more about how to do it and what the police do to lift them as well thank u Mrs Kennedy for teaching us how to do this. Literary mystery

 This week we also had to do a literary mystery this one was harder then  the maths mystery because the  literary mystery first question was really hard . But it was really fun hope u like it.

 

Maths mystery

 

This weeks maths mystery I did it  with Melissa we work well together and we got the maths mystery done the first day and started the literacy. Melissa and I think we worked really well and we felt like it was easy we just did not understand some of the harder question. But over all we work really well together and I am really happy I got to work with her again.

Letter of the week

 This week we did our letter of the week on M and my friends Melissa let me use her name as some of my word and I said thank you. This  weeks letter of the week was very hard for me I had some truble finding some words and  Lola help me with one thank u and hope u like my letter of the week. My letter of the week

Today I posted my maths learning this one was easier then the other one it was easy because Melissa and I worked harder and better together then on the last one we had different clues that we thought

were right. and thats ok but we still had so my fun learning how to work more clues out as a team. 

 This week we had to do two maths  and it was hard but really fun I did it with Melissa and we worked really hard to get it right I really enjoy doing this new activate. It was so hard though there was five clues on each math and i found this one the hardest. Hope you like it.

 This week I joined the cooking group.

On the first day we were learning about safety in the kitchen. We  also learnt more about   what can happen and what can go wrong. 

On the second day we learnt how to cut all  our vegetables and put them in the pot .

On the third day we started by putting the vegetables in the pot to cook after morning tea then we went to go back inside to eat it and it was great.

Letter of the week.

 This week has been hard we had to do something new Letter of the week it was so hard to do all of the answers because there were so many and they all had to do with the letter G which was the letter of the week.but when u finish it it is so understanding. Maori language challenge.

 My slides. This week we had to do a Maori challenge. This challenge was fun because we had to put so much detailed stuff to make our slides great. I had so much fun learning more about the Maori language It was challenging though. We had to follow the steeps to Finnish the slides in the right way . When i was doing it i had lots of stuff that just clicked into my mind and i knew so much more about the Maori  language. I hope u like it.

Anna Paquin

This week we  have been working on our famous people  research. This has been so fun learning all the different thing about Anna Paquin and other people and looking at what they have been finding out. This week was hard though trying to find facts that will be great to fit into your peace of righting. I have just finished my peace of introversion I hope you like all of the great work and hard work I have thought about putting

Whetū Workshops Reflection

During Term 2 and 3 the Whetū students have had the opportunity to be involved in a range of different workshops

The workshop that I have enjoyed participating in the most has been the Chapter Chat because we have not done Chapter Chat in a long time and I chose for myself so I also learnt to work with someone new instead of always working next to my friends.

The new learning that I have learnt is that I don't always have to be with my friends and I don't always have to do what they want me to do. I also think that I have learnt to trust myself with everything I do.

What I have most enjoyed about the workshops are that they are all different in their own ways and that they all change every week. I also like that they challenge me and that some of them are harder than others.

I am interested in learning more about the way science works and how to make experiments of my own. I would also like to learn more about how to  make things change in the world that are not right

Inquiiry

This is my ' So What'. Inquiry activity for tern 3. We learnt about ' Should animals be kept in Zoos. My opinion is that animals should be kept in Zoos because they have people that help them and that they have lots of breading programmes for animals that need there help and I think that is great and I also  had so much fun making my brosher. Thank you for giving us the the excitement

  to do something new.

Math Mahi

This weeks math mahi was harder then last week . we had less questions then last week but much harder we also had to make the pictures bigger. I really like they way Mr Fraser helped me under stand how to work it out.

Cross Country

Cross Country Reflection 2020 

This year I participated in the NPS Cross Country held at school on the Ngatea Domain. I ran in the 10 age group.

I am most proud of trying my hardest to keep pushing myself to the very limit and proud that I finished the race in first because I worked really hard.


I think my effort towards our training at school was great. I put a lot of effort into my fitness and that is what got me to the place that I am now.

I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by trying my very best and to not give up. I think that I also showed lots of my learning Power of Resilience by not stopping when my legs were burning and when Taylor was behind me I felt her breathing and I knew I had to go faster and I am happy to say I am very proud of my race in cross country. Here I come to Hauraki Plains!.

Math Mahi

This weeks math mahi was a little harder then last weeks . I liked the  Division  the most because it was easy but not to easy and it pushed me.  There is not much to say but I really enjoyed it this week it was a little challenging .  We did nine questions every week .

Been update

This week I woke up and went to water my plant and I saw how big it was and I wanted to post it on my blog.  It started as A tiny seed and look at it now I thank my dad for getting me a bigger plant pot so that it could grow some more. The beens are almost ready to eat and mum is so exited to try them and so am I. I will be posting an update every fortnight.

challenge mahi

This week we did the whetu challenge we had to do it in our learning consternation .Our challenge was to animate a cartoon family my group decided to do Micky Mouse And The Club House . It was so hard to get the shape of of them all.



I loved doing all of the colouring and detail but I really did not like tracing but I still had so much fun. I really liked helping my friends Finnish

as well. This was so close to being my favourite challenge but the egg drop challenge is only a inch away. Hope you like the animals hard work.

BELL

This week I went to pick my calf and her name is Bell. First we went to the shred with some calves that were already chosen so it was hard to pick because you would get so happy with the calf then  found out  that you  it is someone else calf so then we went to the other shred because all the calf were not taken so that made it so much easier and the first calf came up to me and I new she was the one and that calf name is BELL. I am so happy with Bell.

Mud Kitchen Cake with ganache

This week me and my friends were in the mud kitchen by the class room and we were having so much fun  Cake with ganache and it termed out great and I wanted to post it on my blog so all of you could see what we made and I hope you like the look. We worked so hard doing all of the layers on the cake and if it was eatable

a would have had a big peace . It was so exciting doing the with Bella and Melissa so go and cheek their blog out and I hope this was a good thing to put on my blog.

Egg Drop Challenge

This weeks Whetu challenge we had to create something that could hold a egg when we dropped it off the grandstand. The challenge was called Egg Drop Challenge it was so scary to what our egg fly down all we were thinking was don't crack and our dream came true the egg did not creak. It was so easy making the creationist because I got to do it with my two friends Bella and Julie they were so fun to work  with and it was also easy when we were typing it because it was easy to take a peaces and stick it on. I was so challenging when we had to stick the balloon to the three stores. This weeks whetu challenge was the best challenge because I had so much fun laughing with my friends and having a great time. How we made it was easy we stared with making a nest out of news pepper then we got three stores and stuck them into the newspaper next we toke the balloon and typed that to the three stores

Math Mahi

This week we had some new activates in pekapeka's math mahi. This weeks math mahi was really fun because we got to cut circles into different shapes and then take a photos and put it on your blog. It was hard to understand some cutting instantiations

but I got there. This week we also had six more real questions instead of just having fun. This week has been so fun in all the learning that have been completed and I really hope that this blog post is interesting.

Matariki stars

This week was hard getting all of the work done and thanks  to Taylor for helping me get it done. This was hard to cut because the shape was hard to get around. The easy thing was colouring them in and it was fun to. This was a hard week but I got it done and I am very happy

because I had a day of a swell and to get this done means a lot. Hope you like this weeks post.

Word of the week

This week I did the word of the week because I have never done the word of the week before and it was fun to do something different for a change. The thing I felt was the hardest was finding a good sentences for describing it and Lola help me with that so thank you Lola and thank you Mrs Kennedy for telling me to push myself more. The thing that was easy was learning what oblivious actually means. I hope I have done a good job this week.

Blog Challenge

Tonight I decided I needed to do more so I wanted to do the blog challenge . I did not have a very big budget so I decided to make a easy holiday for my brothers Birthday and I also decided to do Taupo. This was so hard to find all of the cost of them all together and the easy thing was adding them all together . This was so fun to do something ells for a Chang and I hope you like it

My Discovery

Today I decided to put my discovery on my blog. I was working on this with Amy but she was not here so I finished it on my own.This is a puppy starter pack Amy and I made a box and put what you  will need if you are getting a puppy. We put toys a cage wee mates and there is to many things to name but there is a lot. We used a box coloured paper and colouring pens. This was so fun to make because when I got my dog Pippa we needed all of the stuff in the box. I hope you like Amy and   

Matariki Puzzle

This week and last week we worked on this matariki puzzle. This took a long time but i like the way it turned out. The thing I found really hard was cuting the puzzle pieces out. The anther thing that was hard was when I had to work out witch slide was the right one to match the puzzle. I found the colouring the easiest because you could be creative. I am also going to try and do some can dos this week. I hope you like it.

My Term 2, 2020 Reflection

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is the opt-in workshops. I liked the opt-in workshops the best because there are lots of them and they are all different in their own way. They are all so fun. I like how they include everyone and they also include working as a team. I really like working with lots of new people that I have never worked with before.





Something that has challenged me this term has been Number of the day because math is not my favourite subject. I try really hard and I think I am getting the hang of it.





The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the egg carteen challenge because I have never done anything like it before. I also enjoyed the challenge because it was a good change, it was a little hard and also was different.





The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was all of the sport and the creative things because I love sport and I love all tips of art. The art has been my favourite this term because there were so many different activities to choose from.





An aim I have for my learning is to listen more, to focus and not to talk too much while working.

EGG CARTON CREATION

EGG CARTON CREATION

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons. This was so fun to do and it was fun to laugh with my friends. I used so many thing but my friend Melissa gave me some things to use. The things I used were.. sand,pompom,buttes,tooth picks,egg car teen,paper,pant,google eyes. that was all the stuff I used the things I found the hardest was to get the sand in the right please and also getting the trees that were made out of the tooth picks and pompoms it was hard to make that stand. I hope you like my egg car teen art because it was so fun and I like the way it termed out. And it termed out so cute.

Writing Task

Today I finished my writing task by colouring them in this was so fun to learn more about matariki and her sisters this was fun to colour in as well  because you get to make any thing you want. My family did not know much about matariki and her sisters but now I can go home and tell them more about the seven sisters thank you for showing us this task it was so fun. Hope you like it because I thing I have got it right on and I think it looks great.

Reading Task

Today I was told to put the reading task on my blog and I think I got most of them right. This was a little challenging but i really enjoyed it and i really hope I got them all right and I hope you like this because I worked really hard on trying to get the facts on point it was fun learning more about matariki it was so fun to learn new things and I hope you like the new things I have learnt.

Time in lock down story.

Today I did some writing in story-a-thon and we had to do it about our time in lock-down and it was fun telling some story about our lock-down time . My time in lock-down was so fun when I was spending time with my family. It was fun going on the beach  and playing lots of games. What I liked the most was playing and doing nice and fun stuff with Jackson with out fighting. But I hope you like my lock-down story.

Sick Sentences

This week I did the sick sentences and I really like how this came out  the detail. I hope you like the way I described the words and the detail I put in and I really like this weeks photos as well. This weeks sick sentences were hard for me because the way the snail was coming out I could not found any more words but it was still really good to push myself so I can do more and push myself harder .

Reading Challenge

Today I did the  Synthesis Eggs and I decided to do it online this week. My Synthesis Eggs this week was much easier to do online because you don't make any spelling me stacks I try hard to do more detail this week and I think I made some better detail in this weeks Synthesis Eggs. I found more detail gives you another way done the road to detail it was hard to find some hard facts so I really had to be careful how I  described the the big beetle. I do think the detail in this weeks Synthesis Eggs has alot more time and detail into it and I hope you think it is alot better then last week.

Reading eggs

Today I did the eggs and I added some more detail and to put it on my blog so i can also tell you so things of here because you can't see much. So I found out that there was so many people killed in the firenatoes. They are so harmful and dangerous  that they can tack down ngatea but the way the form is crazy they start by hot air and cold air makes a swirl and then if a fire is going it could run though it and light the turnatoe up in flames. I hope you learnt something new about the firenatoe.

Sick sentences

This week the sentences are very different to last weeks ones but are still so fun and challenging to do. The owl and bee are very different so it made me very confused. It was very fun a well so I hope you like this but sorry there is not much to say. Hope you like this weeks posts.

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper, 2 straws and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support)

Today I worked with Josh and Bella

At first we had trouble with trying to stand the tower up and that was a big problem but Bella came up with a great idea and it really helped with it standing and also made it stronger.

The easiest thing was taping the whole thing together and it was also fun.

The best part of our tower was when it was the first time it stood I was so happy.

Our tower looked OK but I did not like the look because it was so bad but it was so fun to do this tower.

In the end when we put the ball on it stood very well and we were all so happy.

Sick sentences

This is my sick sentences the sick sentences help me a lot about describing the sentences with the right words. My sick sentences also help me with understanding the right way  to say them. I don't have much to say but it was fun learning some new thing about words. I hope you like the way I described them.  

Blog challenge week 8

Math work sheeets

Today mum give Jackson and I some math work sheets to complete. These were so fun and different witch made doing them so ,much better in some questions they were difficult  but we managed to do it.

Lava Lamp

This morning I help Jackson with his lava lamp challenge. This was a cool experience to me but we used all the oil in the kitchen which mum was not happy with that but we moved on. I hope you like this post.

Character Model

Today I did a character model on shiela and I enjoyed being creative with this new app I got.  She has the butterfly's in her stomach because she gets nerves when talking. In her bran is her thinking of what to say so she is also thinking of her favourite thing to charm her down. I hope you like it.
